Support our Polar Plungers!

For the third year in a row the Lino Polar Plungers will be braving the icy waters of Forest Lake in an effort to raise funds to purchase computers for our school. This year's theme is "Clowning Around for Computers," and our team of teachers, parents, and community members is bigger and better than ever. The FL Rotary's Winter Plunge will take place on February 18 on Forest Lake. Donations to support our team may be sent to school, or you may donate online through the Lino STEM Clowning Around for Computers team page. Please consider supporting our team!

Lino Wins Qwest Grant for STEM Project!

Diane Giorgi, technology specialist at Lino Lakes Elementary STEM School, was presented with a $7,500 check for her winning STEM project submission, "Engine-uity 2.0," to the Qwest Teachers and Technology Grant program sponsored by the Minnesota Business Partnership.

Through the Engine-uity 2.0 STEM project, Lino fourth graders will participate in project-based learning as they engineer and design small-scale electric vehicles for power, speed, and duration.

Giorgi will use the grant funds to purchase laptop computers and digital video cameras with which the fourth graders will document and analyze data from the test trials of their vehicle designs then publish their results to the web.
