Support our Lino Laptop Loon-a-tics as they take the plunge into the icy waters of Forest Lake on Saturday, February 20, in an effort to raise funds toward the purchase of new laptops for our school. Click here to make an online donation to our team. Scroll down to the team member list and select either "General Team Donation" or the team member of your choice. Lino Lakes Elementary was recently named a School of Excellence by the Minnesota Elementary School Principal's Association. Jan Masterson, principal at Lino, attributed this honor to the fact that "Lino Lakes Elementary is a great place for kids thanks to the contributions from an effective partnership of dedicated, caring staff, supportive parents, and phenomenal students. Every staff person contributes to the total program designed to help each student reach his/her potential. It is an honor to serve with the Lino Lakes community where our vision of ‘Together we're building a community of care and hope’ is lived on a daily basis." Click here for the full media release, and watch for details on our School of Excellence celebration later this year.
Like many schools around the state, our school has seen a recent increase in the number of students and/or staff who have been reporting Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has asked that we report to them if either of two situations occur in our school: 1) 5 percent or more of the total student population of our school has reported ILI symptoms during any given time period; or 2) any of our classrooms has three or more students reporting ILI symptoms during any given time period.
We want parents to know that, while we are not experiencing what we would consider a high rate of this type of illness, our school has reported to MDH that one of these situations has occurred in our school since classes began this fall.
If our school’s rate of ILI reporting increases dramatically, we will be sending out further communications to inform our families.
